I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit with IE8-beta as my default IE.

Any attempt to open an IE7 tab results in near-immediate crash of IE-Tester Browser. I opened up an instance of Visual Studio 2008 for debugging, and these are the lines from the disassembly where the fault is occurring:

If you have a Vista 32 bits and can test, do you also have this problem, or does it only happens with Vista 64 bits ?

I did not have the same problem with 32-bit Vista, when I was running that, the IE7 tabs worked when I had IE7 installed, and after I installed IE8-beta.

Sorry, I don't understand. On vista 32 bits with IE7 it was working, and on Vista 32 bits with IE8 beta it was not workng anymore ? Is that right ?

No. I have (in the past) run Vista Ultimate 32-bit with IE7 and IE8 (at different times), and have had IETester installed while IE7 was installed, and while IE8 was installed. At no point did I have the same problem that I am having now, with my current configuration of:

Vista Ultimate 64-bit sp1, IE8 beta.

Any time I try to open an IE7 tab, the program stops working, gives me the error message telling me that IETester has stopped working and needs to close, and then asks me if I want to debug.

All other rendering engines (5.5, 6 & 8) are functioning as they should, 7 is the only one that crashes the program.

Ok, so it is a problem with the Vista 64 bits. Unfortunately, as I don't have Vista 64 bits, I won't be able to debug the problem.

How did you install the software on Vista 64-bit? It crashes during the installation on mine
(Vista Home Premium SP1 - 64-bit)
