DebugBar forums / OLD debugger is not working in protected mode

Hello,

I've just installed the last version of companion as well as last version of debug bar. But when I'm running a page with an error, I can't not see where my problem is. The about menu gives these details :

JS Debugger Thread running : OK
JS debugger version : OLD
JS Debugger not connected : LIMITATION - OLD debugger is not working in protected mode
Internet Explorer Version : 7.0.6000.16791
Protected Mode : OFF

It seems that there is a problem of course, but I can't figure out which one it is. Can someone help me at this point ?

Did you install Microsoft Script Debugger ?

Same issue for me also. I did install Microsoft Script Debugger by following the steps mentioned in http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/CompanionJS/Installing.

Same problem for me. It was working very well, but some day i have this issue.
I assume maybe some IE update...

In my case, my latest update, that I remember, is Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1

Companion.JS BHO loaded : OK
JS Debugger Thread not running : PROBLEM
JS debugger version : OLD
JS Debugger not connected : LIMITATION - OLD debugger is not working in protected mode
Internet Explorer Version : 7.0.6000.1685
Protected Mode : OFF

This cannot be fixed for this specific version of IE and protected mode enabled.

I have the flexibility to do almost anything with this machine, settings-wise. Please let me know what I need to change.
Your prior comments, and the error message, are unclear. Is the problem that the browser is old, the debugger is old, the mode is protected, or unprotected?

I get the same issue with IE9, with protected mode turned OFF or ON for "Internet Sites".
I have also tried adding http://my-debugbar.com to "Trusted Sites", and re-testing on the dummy page.

Version check reports "You have the latest version of Companion.js".

I turned off protected mode using the instructions here:

I then restarted IE and tried again.
The message under "About" remains the same:

Companion.JS BHO not loaded : PROBLEM
JS Debugger Thread not running : PROBLEM
JS debugger version : OLD
JS Debugger not connected : LIMITATION - OLD debugger is not working in protected mode
Internet Explorer Version : 9.0.8112.16421
Protected Mode : OFF

Hi,

What is your OS Version? (thanks for reading the Announcement).

Based on the About, the Companion.JS BHO is not running. Can you go to the "Manage add-ons" page and check if all the Companion.JS addons are enabled ? (there should be two add-ons).

Also, do you have the "disabled debugging" unchecked in the IE options ?
