window.external.InPrivateFilteringEnabled method called

I get this message three times for every webpage I open in IE8 and above in IETester 0.4.11 on Windows 7 Pro SP1.

IE7 does not show this message at all.

Re: window.external.InPrivateFilteringEnabled method called

Hi,

You can disable the "window.external" feature in IETester by going to the Options and then the tab "Advanced Options".
Here you can disable the window.external feature by checking the flag in the experimental features.

Hope this helps.

That worked great when I had Vista and now does not work at all on Windows 7, among other things like just right-clicking anything.

Hi Fabrice

I disabled the window.external feature and am still getting that same error.

Any ideas? What does it even mean?

Win 7 Ultimate, SP1
IETester v0.4.12
Tabs - IE8, IE9
Sample URL: http://www.clarktanks.com.au/

Thanks!

Re: window.external.InPrivateFilteringEnabled method called

Those are not alerts, those are juste messages from IETester to tell that a window.external function has been called. This is informative. I need to remove this and add a log so it's less intrusive.

Re: window.external.InPrivateFilteringEnabled method called

Hello,

I just downloaded the latest version of IE tester v0.5.1 and debugbar v7.0.1 and this message is still occurring. It pops up 3 times when visiting my websites, and the website above, clarktanks.com.au.

The "disable window.external feature" does not remove the message, nor does the "Disable filters" setting.

Why is it important to know if the InPrivateFilteringEnabled method is called?

It's unproductive, and debug code like this should never make it through to release. It should be a 1 liner, so please remove this so the rest of us can continue to use your great piece of software.

I will be reverting to an older version of IE TESTER, does anyone know which is the oldest version which supports IE10?

Re: window.external.InPrivateFilteringEnabled method called

Hi,

The "disable window.external feature" option didn't worked. I fixed it for the next version.
I will also remove the popup window. I've added this popup windows for IETester users in order for them to see if the method is correctly called, but I'll remove it as it is annoying for debugging.

The next version with the fix will be released in the next few days.
