HI All,

Does IE Tester have an automatic updater of some sort? There is a process resident in memory consuming 50% CPU (hyperthreaded single core) despite the fact I haven't run IETester for days (I think, not since before my last reboot).

At best this is annoying, and it's going to get splatted, at worst there's some spyware, either in IEtester or aliasing as IETester (which seems unlikely, as it's a fairly rare install).

The box is Windows XP Pro (32) SP 2 got IE8 installed.

Hi,

No, there is nothing like that in IETester. What is the name of your process ? If it's "IETester.exe", you can kill it.

If it's not "IETester.exe", it's a problem with another application you have installed and I don't think it's related to IETester.

Yup the process was IETester.exe, I admit I killed it off pretty much after I posted, and I haven't had any problems since (although I haven't actually run IETester either).

So do we think there was a problem or was it just a freak occurrence?
