IE7 crash when installing DebugBar / DebugBar forums

Hi!

I was interested to test the features of this tools, whose kind is lacking for IE.
But I never could have it work. After installing it (and enabling it the first time) IE always crashes when I run it. I have to completely uninstall debugbar for it to work.

Do you have an idea of what is wrong with my configuration ?

I'm running on XP SP2, IE7 (version 7.0.5730.11 for info). I have local admin rights on the account I'm using.

Hi,

I am posting here the problem for people who have the same crash : IE is crashing when Virus Scan Entreprise Edition 8.0 is running on the machine and DebugBar is installed.

The later version of VScan EE is solving the problem (I tried version 8.5 and it is working).
So, upgrading Virus Scan should solve the problem.

Feel free to contact me if you can't upgrade, or still have troubles.

Looks like I have the same problem. I have Edition 8.0. Is there any way to get DebugBar running without upgrading to 8.5?

Hi,

I've got the same problem as listed above. My company has a license for Virus Scan EE 8.0 and it's atm not possible to upgrade.

Is there any way to install the debugbar and run my native IE7 together?

OS: XP SP3

Hi,

I have added an option to disable the feature that is not working with Virus Scan EE 8.0 : Open IE, go to the DebugBar options dialog, select "Advanced" tab and check the "Disable advanced HTTP sniffing" feature.

Then restart IE. This should not crash anymore.

Hi Fabrice,

The problem is, IE7 immediately crashes when opening. So I can't go to the settings panel. I can only open IE7 with no addons (a very plain version of IE7, no flash, debugbar etc.).

I can open the debugbar with IETester, thus I couldn't find the options there.

This is because you have a homepage defined. Open IE, remove any homepage, so IE willl be able to be started with add-ons activated. Then you will have access to DebugBar options.

No, It means DebugBar will report 304 headers as 200 headers, but IE7 will handle them.
