Development sidebar without admin rights?

Hi,

Using WinXP SP3 and evaluating DebugBar 5.4 on IE7.
I installed DebugBar with Admin rights, but usually I do not work with admin rights.
Development sidebar does not open when I click on the button when I do not have admin rights, with admin rights it works fine.

Is there any way to make it work without admin rights?
I won't surf the internet with admin rights!!!

Kind regards,
Oliver

Re: Development sidebar without admin rights?

Hi,

I created a limited user on a XPSP2 machine and this user has access to DebugBar directly.

Did you check if the add-on is not disabled by default in your "manage add-ons" dialog ?

Re: Development sidebar without admin rights?

I do have access to DebugBar, the symbol bar shows correctly.
But when I click on the DebugBar Icon (second to the left), the sidebar does not open.

Yes, I verified that it is not disabled. Two items are enabled: DebugBar and DebugBar BHO.

Re: Development sidebar without admin rights?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

You should have 3 "DebugBar" items in the manage add-ons, so I suppose the development bar has not been registered correctly. You can try to install again from your user account by launching the install as admin.

Re: Development sidebar without admin rights?

Hmmm... suddenly it works. Maybe a reboot was needed after installation...
Thanks for helping!

Re: Development sidebar without admin rights?

Good news !

Maybe the reboot did the trick.
