Tiny fonts (after upgrading to IE8?)

I can't tell exactly when it started but I've noticed that some applications (including IETester and Windows built-in service manager) now display some of the texts using such small fonts that they're hardly readable. Two samples:

I believe it might be related to IE8 because Windows Update installed it not long ago but I'm not really sure. I've found many references to font issues in IE8 but not this specific one. Has any one else found the same issue?

I've upgraded to lastest IETester (v0.3.3) but the fonts look the same. I'm running Windows XP Professional SP3 (Spanish edition). Current IE is 8.0.6001.18702. Zoom in IETester is set to 100% and font size in IE is "medium" as usual.

Hi,

I don't think this problem is related to IETester...

Neither do I. However, it prevents me from using it for proper website testing.

Re: Tiny fonts (after upgrading to IE8?)

I'm happy to say I finally found a fix.

I clicked on the "Accesibility" button in the Internet Explorer settings and selected the "Omit font size" checkbox. The next time I launched the affected programs, fonts were readable again. Then I could go back to the accesibility settings and uncheck the checkbox; the option was no longer needed.
