IETester 0.3.3 Problems

OS-Version:Windows XP Professional SP2
IE-Version: IE 8.0
Language:Chinese

My English is not very fluent. Some troubule may leave in this discussion.

1. Some javascript like window.showModalDialog
When I test some pages uses window.showModalDialog, it opens in new tab and couldn't get some values from parent window. But in the IE(windows installed), it runs OK. Can you fix it, then I can test my whole program.

2. Internet Explorer Settings
When I want to set IE settings in IETester, it will call the IE(windows) not IETester's. I want IETesters will set all the supported IE versions standalone.
Can anything run not depend on the windows IE? You may extract some dll.

3. Suggest you provide some other browsers test supporting: Firefox, opera, and etc.

Re: IETester 0.3.3 Problems

Hi,

1. Some javascript like window.showModalDialog
When I test some pages uses window.showModalDialog, it opens in new tab and couldn't get some values from parent window. But in the IE(windows installed), it runs OK. Can you fix it, then I can test my whole program.

This is a known bug. I already investigated and couldn't find a correction to it.

2. Internet Explorer Settings
When I want to set IE settings in IETester, it will call the IE(windows) not IETester's. I want IETesters will set all the supported IE versions standalone.
Can anything run not depend on the windows IE? You may extract some dll.

This is not possible so far, IE and IETester settings are shared between to two programs.

3. Suggest you provide some other browsers test supporting: Firefox, opera, and etc.

This has been suggested several times in the forum and is in my todo, but will come later as it is a lot of work and I would like to have a stable version for IE first.

Re: IETester 0.3.3 Problems

Thank you very much. I hope the new versions with serveral highlights will come in a short time.
I just think the independant OS will run perfectly in Virtual Server. So can do web browsers?
Also I suggest the IE tester can add some offline help.
