[WINDOWS 7] Internet Explorer 7 Tab Blank? Doesn't Load or Interact? / DebugBar forums

Problem: Whenever I start IETester in either Admin mode or User mode, I can open all versions of IE except IE7. the IE7 Tab even refuses to load the homepage.

Variables:
-Running Windows 7 RC, fully updated
-IE8, latest installed

Are you running 64 bit version or 32 bit version of Win7 ?

Other than that you may try to disable ie add-ons, maybe one of them is not working with IE7 tab. But as it is woking on my machine, I can't debug the problem so far :-(

Confirmed here. IE7 tab does nothing on Windows 7 x64 using IETester 0.3.5. I have no add-ons installed or enabled.

I have 32-bit btw. And I disabled my IE Addons. I also disabled the DebugBar. Nothing helps.

It isn't useful to test in Win 7 RC build.
Get RTM (aka Final) if you can.

The problem is not RC or RTM. The problem is 32 bits or 64 bits :-(

I HAD the exact same problem. I am using windows 7 rtm 64bit and could not get ie7 tab working on ietester.

Just find the ietester exe and make sure that compatibility mode is OFF, not Windows XP SP3. Then it seems to work again.

Thanks ! You mean that IETester is installed with XPSP3 compatibility mode under Win7 x64 ? Really strange...

Confirmed! Compatibility mode was set to Windows Vista (Service Pack 1). I disabled that in the shortcut property box and the IE7 tab is working.

On the other hand, IETester still always crashes after 10 minutes.

I tried to check out the compatibility mode, but nothing occurs in IE7 both shortcut and .exe file
I use Windows 7 64bit

I have compatibility mode unchecked but iE7 tab does not work for local files from hard disk, just blank page. Internet pages are displayed fine in iE7 within iEtester.

Win7 64 bits, iEtester 0.4.2

If you open the containing directory of the html file in the IE7 tab, then add the filename to the end of the address and press enter, it will open the file. But... the IE7 tab then crashes after a while even with the window minimized. (Windows 7 RTM x64, compatibility mode off)

Ditto on having problems with the IE7 tab not opening local files. Files on the server (eg any wwwexample.com) seem to work; however, local files do not seem to work.

System: Windows 7 Pro RTM (Build 7600) 64 bit. IETester 0.4.2

To clarify for qee: Find the file path you are trying to open (eg: C:\website\index.html ). Go to the root directory by entering it in the address bar or by clicking browse via "All Versions of IE" and selecting IE7. The file path would look like: C:\website\ . Then, type in the filename, ending up to be: C:\website\index.html . The local file will then open in IE7.

Hi all.

The same problem with the IE7 tab displaying a blank page was resolved by clicking on:

Options... IETester options... Advanced Options (the tab)

and unchecking the 'Run in Multi Process Mode' box.

Close and restart IETester.

I'm having the same problem with the IE7 tab showing a blank page on local files. No error. Seems like it doesn't even try to load the page. Just no reaction at all.

Tried Rubick's solution and that did not work for me. I have WIN 7 64bit. And this is even after downloading/installing the latest version of IETester.
