A tab has crashed for an unknown reason. You can reopen the tab...

Hello.

I'm using since today your great software IETester, fortunatelly when I use it on Windows XP Professional SP3 there was everything great.

Unfortunatelly when I tried to use this tool on my Windows 7 Professional I got error like: "A tab has crashed for an unknown reason. You can reopen the tab by clicking the 'Reopen tab' button".

I tried to load your homepage in IE6 tab http://www.my-debugbar.com/ietester/?version=0.4.2

IE7 makes sometimes the same error, IE8 load your homepage correct.

I have installed Internet Explorer 8

Any idea why the problem occur and how to fix it?

The error with tab is begin after about 10-15 seconds.

IE8 which I have on windows 7 Professional is: 8.0.7600.16385

Best Regards.

I got the same problem, although it crashes instantly when i open a site in IE 6. I get:
Unhandled exception at 0x6e421dc4 in IETester.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000013.
in jsproxy.dll

Hi,

This might be due to proxy settings. You can check this other thread :

And see if any pit can correct your problem.

Re: A tab has crashed for an unknown reason. You can reopen the tab...

Hi,

I did try IETester for the first time but have crashes by System (Data Execution Prevention, DEP). I'm not able to tell Vista not to check IETester, so it'll go on.

Due to incompatibility between sharepoint an IE8 I've tried to check with other version - only IE7-Tab works. (even IE8 Compatibility-Mode does not!).

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :-)

System: Vista Enterprise SP2; Browser: IE8 8.0.6001.18882

Could you be more precise about the crash ?

Thanks.

Re: A tab has crashed for an unknown reason. You can reopen the tab...

I seem to get this just because a server is having intermittent connectivity issues, even though the page has been fully loaded in the tab for a while -- IETester pops up with a Just-in-Time (JIT) debugging error even as I was trying to make fixes to the website files in another application.

I am testing IE7 in particular.
