Ie version numbers

Hi,
Im using IETester and in my version of IE8 a page looks ok, but in the client's which is using a version of IE8, there are bugs in the page.  I think this is probably because they have a slightly different version of IE8 than I have. Is there any way of finding out which exact version number you have in IETester (equivalent to using the 'about internet explorer' option)?

Re: Ie version numbers

I think I've found the answer - if you go to c:/program files(x86)/core services/ietester/8ininet.dll and right click and select properties it says in the details tab the version is 8.0.6001.19386 (I Think that's the correct file?). Our clients are using 8.0.7601.17514.

How do you change the version of IE8 in IEtester to match this version?

Re: Ie version numbers

By default, Microsoft IE forces intranet websites (those detected inside the Enterprise firewall) into compatibility mode to prevent breaking legacy browser-based applications (e.g., timesheets). If the client's IT department won't change the default Enterprise network policy on this, try asking your client to uncheck "Display intranet sites in compatibility view" in their IE browser (dialog accessed via IE menu >> Tools >> Compatibility View Settings).

Re: Ie version numbers

Internet Explorer version 4.0 and later versions include an Update Versions line that lists all installed updates or hotfixes to the current version of Internet Explorer. Updates to Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2 or Internet Explorer 5.0 and later versions are listed by their corresponding Microsoft Knowledge Base article number.
