Re: Problems with v0.5

Can you check the registry file in the latest section  :

http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/CompanionJS/Installing

You'll need to have this key registered as well :

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{ADDEE521-F1CC-4B89-8C88-B2CF625B9163}

Re: Problems with v0.5

@brikonwall try to change the permission of the key and/or the sub folders
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{ADDEE521-F1CC-4B89-8C88-B2CF625B9163}

In my case, using regedit, logged as Administrator, when I try to change the permissions on this key, let me an "access denied error"
I had to install windows again.

Another test, Just in case, if you have Avast Antivirus, try to disable it and restart IE.

Re: Problems with v0.5

Hi,

Your problem is that the BHO for Companion.JS is not loaded.

First, try to reinstall Companion.JS, then check if Companion.JS BHO is not disabled in the list of ie extensions, then check if the BHO is correctly registered in the registry, and be sure that you have admin rights when installing Companion.JS

Re: Problems with v0.5

Hi,

The first problem is that the BHO is not loaded, so maybe the BHO is not enabled (I don't know if there is a "Manage Add-Ons" dialog, but if so, you can check here if the Companion.JS BHO is correctly enabled).

Companion.JS should be compatible with IE6. Did you install Microsoft Script Debugger, as stated on the Companion.JS install doc ? :

http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/CompanionJS/Installing

Thanks.

Re: Problems with v0.5

Right, that's not normal at all.

Maybe on W2003 there are some securities that make IE unable to load those add-ons. Do you have admin right on your user account ?

Re: Problems with v0.5

found the problem
the advanced option "Enable third-party browser extensions" is turned off in my ie for some reason
maybe it's some of my security util tools that turned it off

now it works, thanks for help
